Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc. Selects Eventra's VendorSite SRM Software to Manage Its Inbound Supply Chain

MILFORD, Conn.--Aug. 20, 2001--Eventra, Inc. a leading provide of Internet-based Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract with Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc. (SIA), manufacturer of Subaru automobiles and Isuzu SUVs.
SIA will use Eventra's VendorSite solution to manage its direct materials supply chain for Subaru production and after-market Suppliers.
SIA becomes the latest major manufacturer to choose VendorSite - an Internet-based SRM solution that provides manufacturers with a window into their direct materials supply chain. Using VendorSite, SIA will link suppliers to its parts ordering, scheduling, and delivery systems via standard Internet/web browser access.
Bill Howard, Senior Manager, Information Systems at SIA said, "the VendorSite platform appears to be a strategic alternative to traditional EDI, and since several of our suppliers have limited ability to launch and support traditional EDI - VendorSite becomes a very realistic and affordable alternative."
SIA's decision follows the completion of a successful pilot program conducted during the second quarter of this year in which SIA tested VendorSite's ability to enable faster, more reliable business transactions with their suppliers. Seven of SIA's largest suppliers participated in the pilot.
"Our larger suppliers have rated the VendorSite system to be a reliable and dependable resource for processing our parts ordering and shipping transactions" Howard added.
