Designworks USA Gathers the Design Industry to Celebrate the Opening Of Its New Studio and Design Facility
NEWBURY PARK, Calif., Aug. 20 On Thursday, September 20th, Designworks USA, a BMW Group company, will be hosting, "A Celebration of Design," a grand opening event honoring Designworks USA's revolutionary new car design and modeling studio created by award winning architectural firm Gensler and Associates of Santa Monica. An innovative architectural model, this 38,000 square foot addition expands Designworks' total design space to an impressive 75,000 square feet. This enhanced facility makes the Designworks USA complex arguably the largest and most technologically sophisticated studio of its kind. The space itself is rivaled only by Designworks USA's own multinational team of designers and engineers, representing disciplines as diverse as industrial design, automotive and transit design, product design and advanced communications. "Together, BMW Design and Designworks USA have created a phenomenal culture of award winning design, and with this grand opening party, we will be able to showcase our 'oneness' to the world," says Chris Bangle, Chief of BMW Design and acting President of Designworks USA. The evening will showcase Designworks USA's work while entertaining guests in an eclectic sensory environment created by LA's renowned event designer, Robert Smith from Laurels Events. The evening will be complete with music from one of LA's hottest DJ's and sumptuous cuisine created by Kai Loebach, of Kai's European Catering (rumored to be one of Gourmet magazines favorites).
