Michael Andretti, No. 39 Motorola/Honda-Reynard

"Thank God we had that last little bit there at the end. I wish it had been dry because I think we had a car that was going to go pretty well in the dry but at least we finished in the top seven. Seventh isn't too bad, we can still win from there. In t he faster corners it was drier and you could actually pick up some time there plus it worked out better because our tires weren't off at that point. I'm really hoping for a dry race tomorrow because this place can get really slippery and doesn't dry consi stently because of all the trees so racing in the rain here is not fun. The last time I remember running in the rain here was in 1997 and I was the first to go out in dry tires and spun off so I'm really hoping for dry weather tomorrow."

Position: 7th
Time: 126.572 seconds/ 115.135 mph
2000 Start/Finish: 4 th/18th

Tony Cotman, Team Manager

"We are pretty happy because we had a problem at the end of the morning session which required us to do an engine change before qualifying. Team Motorola did a great job getting us out for qualifying just in time. At the end it was just who was running a round on the driest track. We're pretty happy with seventh although I think we may have been a bit quicker in the dry but there's a lot of good drivers behind us, so we're pretty happy with where we ended the day. I don't think we'll change too much for tomorrow. We'll show up in the morning and see what the weather is doing. We're not demon in the rain we just happened to be there at the right time today so if it's raining in the morning we'll probably have to make quite a few changes for the race."
