in conjunction with Woodward Dream Cruise

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 17 With its systems integration and
manufacturing expertise Visteon Corporation continues to help its
customers deliver world-class automotive products and systems.

Visteon is supplying nearly 50 systems and components for the all-new 2002
Ford Thunderbird, including the vehicle's cockpit, driver information, audio,
chassis and climate systems. Additionally, Visteon was selected as the
climate systems integrator for the vehicle.

"We're very pleased with the wide-variety of innovative products and
technologies that Visteon is supplying to Ford Motor Company for the launch of
this exciting new vehicle," said Michael Sammut, Director for Visteon's
Thunderbird Customer Business Unit. "The 2002 Thunderbird demonstrates
Visteon's ability to deliver systems that meet consumer needs for increased
personalization and improved fuel economy."

    Climate

Visteon has complete system responsibility for the sporty two-seat
convertible's climate system. Visteon's thermal management approach looks at
the individual elements of the vehicle's environment (interior, exterior and
surrounding environment) as one unit, enabling the auto supplier to provide a
system that is more efficient, effective and reliable. The system supplied by
Visteon includes: the heating and air conditioning system with dual-zone
automatic temperature control and the engine cooling module.

    Chassis

In an effort to provide a safe and comfortable ride, Visteon applied its
thorough knowledge of chassis systems to design and manufacture the
Thunderbird's driveshaft, stabilizer bar, axle, and steering gear and column,
which have resulted in smooth ride and handling for the new convertible.
Additionally, Visteon's steering column provides an added level of safety and
convenience with its telescoping design that helps absorb energy in the event
of a collision, while providing for convenient placement of other hand-
operated controls.

    Interior

A significant contributor to the Thunderbird's distinct interior is the
vehicle's cockpit system, including a unique cluster that provides detailed
message center functionality. The cockpit is an attractive, driver-oriented
layout that complements the vehicle's smooth curves and elegant design, and
preserves the Thunderbird's spirited heritage with a modernistic design
approach.

The vehicle's cockpit is a prime example of how Visteon is meeting its
customers' needs, as well as the personalization needs of consumers with rapid
response and flexibility, while helping minimize inventory. Through its
Assembly Plant in Saline, Mich., and the implementation of In-Line Vehicle
Sequencing (ILVS), Visteon can leverage its systems and module expertise to
create a personalized cockpit built-to-order and delivered in sequence in as
little as 90 minutes.

    Audio

In addition to a unique cockpit system, Visteon also supplies the
Thunderbird with its CD6 Music System -- an in-dash 6 CD radio that merges
sound quality with maximum convenience. The Visteon CD6 Music System
addresses the needs of consumers and takes vehicle audio systems to an
entirely new level -- one that offers superior quality in a convenient
integrated in-dash system.
