SAE Aerospace Standard AS9100A Available From SAE

    WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 17 The Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE International) announces the release of its aerospace standard
AS9100, Revision A, still referred to as AS9100.  This standard now includes
the aerospace unique requirements and ASQ Q9001:2000 and the original AS9100
based on the Q9001:1994 quality system requirements.  The quality system
requirements specified in this standard are complementary to the contractual
and applicable law and regulatory requirements for the aerospace industry.
    Standard AS9100 contains approximately 80 unique requirements and
18 amplifications of the ISO 9000 requirements.  If your company produces
parts and/or processes for the aerospace industry, AS9100 is an essential
industry document.  It sets quality requirements consistent with the aerospace
industry.  It is the same as the international 9100 versions being used in
Europe and Asia.
