Everclear Presents Their All-New Custom-Designed 2001 Honda Civic To San Diego Fan, Desiree Martlett

    SAN DIEGO, Aug. 17 On Saturday, July 28, just before
taking the stage at UCSD's Price Center Ballroom to headline that night's
Civic Tour concert, Everclear presented a brand new 2001 Civic Coupe to
Desiree Martlett, 29, of San Diego.

    Through a contest on radio station 91X (XTRA-FM), Martlett was one of 35
Everclear fans who won the chance to randomly select a key and attempt to
start the Civic, which was customized and autographed by the rock trio,
Everclear, Art Alexakis (vocals/lead guitar), Greg Eklund (drums) and Craig
Montoya (back-up vocals/bass).  Of the station contestants, Martlett's was the
only key to actually start the engine, making her the grand-prize winner of
the unique 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe, with flag-style graphics inspired by the
cover of Everclear's latest CD, "Songs From An American Movie Vol. Two."  Fans
can still enter to win the remaining (of three in the world) Everclear Civic
on civictour.com until August 31.
    Honda developed the Civic Tour as a unique promotion where music fans can
catch one of their favorite acts and have a chance at winning a customized
Honda Civic Coupe designed and autographed by the band.  Everclear drove the
second leg of Civic Tour on a nine-city cross-country excursion this summer,
following the tour's inaugural spring leg, which was powered by pop-punk
rockers blink-182.
