Rentech Announces OKON, Inc. Association with Goodyear Chemical

    DENVER, Aug. 17 Rentech, Inc. (Amex: RTK) today announced
that its wholly owned subsidiary OKON, Inc. will be associated with Goodyear
Chemical, a division of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to use the
Goodyear PLIOTEC(R) resin and trademark logo on all OKON products manufactured
employing these unique Goodyear resins.

    The PLIOTEC(R) logo is a promotional initiative whose aim is to promote
PLIOTEC(R) resin based sealers satisfying the highest level of performance.
OKON has worked diligently with Goodyear Chemical in meeting the strict
standards and specifications Goodyear requires to use the PLIOTEC(R) trademark
and logo which will be displayed on OKON labels and literature.  The
PLIOTEC(R) promotional logo will signify to consumers and specifiers that
PLIOTEC(R) based OKON sealers conform to certain standards and should provide
years of trouble-free performance.

    Frank Livingston President of OKON, Inc. stated, "We at OKON consider our

masonry and wood surfaces."

    Rentech also announced today that OKON and REN CORPORATION, a Company in
which Rentech is in the process of completing an acquisition of more than
50 percent ownership, each unveiled new websites for their respective
companies.
