TRW Completes Network Six Acquisition
RESTON, Va.--Aug. 17, 2001--TRW Inc. has completed its purchase of Network Six, Inc., an information-technology company specializing in human services, for $5.3 million including assumption of net debt.The transaction closed yesterday.
As announced June 7, TRW acquired Rhode Island-based Network Six to expand its state and local government business, particularly in New England.
TRW Systems has established a northeast operations office at Network Six's facility in Providence to manage and pursue state and local business throughout New England. Donna J. Guido, vice president of information systems for Network Six, will lead this office for TRW.
"Underscoring TRW's commitment to the state and local marketplace, this new Northeast Operations Office will oversee our existing $11 million in human services contracts in Rhode Island and Maine and support future TRW business in health and human services, public safety communications and law enforcement, and public administration," said Joe Fay, vice president of public administration and human services for TRW Systems.
As a result of this acquisition, TRW currently maintains systems supporting the temporary assistance for needy families, child support, child care and child welfare for the state of Rhode Island and child welfare for the state of Maine.
TRW Systems, based in Reston, is one of the top seven systems integrators for state and local governments.
In addition to providing information technology systems for human services in more than 23 states, TRW provides healthcare information systems to state and local governments and builds integrated public safety communication and transportation centers for police, fire, medical dispatch and emergency services.
