Intier announces Board of Directors

    AURORA, ON, Aug. 16 - Intier Automotive Inc.
announced today that Dr. Rudolf Streicher and Mr. Lawrence
Worrell have been elected to serve as outside directors of the Company. Dr.
Streicher is currently the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Voest-Alpine
Stahl AG and Boehler Uddeholm AG. He was formerly the Managing Director and
Chairman of the Board of Austrian Industry Holding AG. He has also previously
served as the Austrian Minister for Economic Affairs and Transportation as
well as the Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Steyr-Daimler-Puch
AG and Austria Metall AG. Mr. Worrell, a Certified Management Accountant, is
retired and worked for over 30 years in various financial and operational
capacities at General Motors of Canada Limited. Prior to his retirement, Mr.
Worrell was Vice President Purchasing, Strategic Planning and Operations as
well as a member of the board of directors of General Motors of Canada
Limited.
    Dr. Streicher and Mr. Worrell join Messrs Louis E. Lataif, Edward C
Lumley, Neil G. Davis, Frank Stronach, James Nicol and Donald J. Walker and
Ms. Belinda Stronach on the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Lataif has
served as Dean of the School of Management at Boston University for
approximately ten years. Prior to that time, he was employed at Ford Motor
Company for approximately 27 years in various senior operational and sales and
marketing capacities, including President, Ford of Europe and Vice-President,
North American Sales Operations. He also serves on the boards of Bank Audi
USA, Great Lakes Chemical Corporation and The Iacocca Foundation. Mr. Lumley
is currently a Vice Chairman of BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., prior to which time he
was Chairman of Noranda Manufacturing Inc. and a Minister of the Crown for the
Government of Canada. He currently serves on the boards of a number of public
companies, including Magna International Inc., C-Mac Industries Inc., Air
Canada and Canadian National Railway Company. Mr. Davis is currently a partner
at the law firm of Davis Webb Schulze & Moon and has a general law practice
with an emphasis on municipal, planning and environmental law. He is a member
of the board of directors of the Company's affiliate, Decoma International Inc
and is active in a number of charitable organizations in the Metropolitan
Toronto area. Messrs. Stronach and Nicol and Ms. Stronach are nominees of the
Company's major shareholder, Magna International Inc. Mr. Stronach is the
founder and the Chairman of the Board of both Magna and the Company. Ms.
Stronach is the Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magna and Mr.
Nicol is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Magna.
    Commenting on the composition of the Board, Mr. Walker stated that
"Management is pleased to have members of the board with such diverse
individual backgrounds and extensive experience in the automotive industry who
can assist in improving shareholder value".

most of the major automobile manufacturers in the world and employs
