Torvec Appoints David K. Marshall as Its Vice President of
Manufacturing
PITTSFORD, N.Y., Aug. 15 Torvec Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC) announced today that it has appointed David
K. Marshall as its Vice President of Manufacturing. The appointment, announced
by CEO Mike Martindale, is effective September 1, 2001.
Mr. Marshall will be responsible for all manufacturing activities within
Torvec, as well as at Torvec's partners and future suppliers. His primary
mission over the coming months will be to apply his advanced methodologies and
knowledge to Torvec's Ice Technology. Additionally his charter is to drive
Torvec's product commercialization strategy through the installation of a
pilot plant and related organization. In this role Mr. Marshall will report
to Jake Brooks, COO and will be responsible for procurement, product support
engineering, manufacturing and quality engineering, and pilot plant
operations.
Mr. Marshall was President and founder of Enterprise Venture Partners, a
consulting firm, focused on delivering proprietary product commercialization
and production scale-up methodologies, to its clients. Prior to that he was a
Principal at Nextera Enterprises. Mr. Marshall has a wealth of experience in
product commercialization, is an expert in Design for Manufacturing as well as
process design, measurement and control. His experience includes working both
domestically and internationally in a number of different industries,
including automotive and aerospace. His significant achievements include
fifteen years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he was responsible for
the introduction of well over twenty major new products. He holds a BS Degree
in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Western New England College.
"To find a talent like Dave is a major coup for Torvec, his capabilities
should put us in a highly competitive position," said Mike Martindale,
Torvec's Chief Executive Officer. "His working knowledge of all aspects of
product commercialization, as well as his ability to attract highly qualified
talent to Torvec should assure us of quality new product launches."
"We continue to grow our impressive commercialization capabilities within
Torvec," said Keith Gleasman, President of Torvec. "Dave's addition to the
organization is a tremendous win for Torvec. His ability to apply the
proprietary methodologies he has developed over the years to our product
offerings should significantly reduce our time to market."
Mr. Marshall stated, " I am thrilled to join Torvec, I believe that Torvec
is well positioned with innovative technology that has the potential to
dramatically impact the future direction of the automotive and truck
industries. In my evaluation of the Torvec's product portfolio, I felt that
not only did they have truly innovative designs, but they had also made
significant commitment to state-of-the-art design methods in computer-aided
design and engineering. Torvec's products are well along their
commercialization path. After seeing the CAE simulation of the revolutionary
new hydraulic enabled IVT system which is in prototype build, and after
touching, feeling and doing a detailed analysis of the FTV(TM) prototype, I am
convinced that Torvec has the pole position. These significant breakthroughs
should position us to be able to capitalize upon what I believe are strong
unmet needs in the marketplace."
