Emery Worldwide Operates Without Disruption

    REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--Aug. 15, 2001--Emery Worldwide, the global heavyweight cargo transportation subsidiary of CNF Inc. , announced today that its freight transportation operations have continued to operate successfully despite the suspension on Monday of the flight operations of Emery Worldwide Airlines.
    Using a substitute fleet of contracted airlift from other carriers, Emery Worldwide has successfully operated its North American system for the past two nights, moving more freight than it was averaging last week and more than its daily average in July. Emery Worldwide continues to provide its full range of guaranteed North American and international services to the same network of cities in North America and 226 countries worldwide that it served before the suspension.
