DETROIT -- General Motors is among the contributing sponsors of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 50th Anniversary celebration video that will be made available at this month's annual Concours d'Elegance event.
GM vehicles have been a part of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance from its earliest years. It has grown to become the premier Concours d'Elegance event in the world, showcasing elegant vehicles with innovative technology and compelling design.
"The video includes both the earliest known and the most recent footage from last year's 50th anniversary event as well as highlights throughout the intervening years," said Scot Keller, staff director of Corporate Communications for General Motors. "We're pleased that we can be even a small part of commemorating this memorable event and helping to create a visual legacy that future generations will relish."
General Motors vehicles were on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in the early 1950s, and over the years they've won a multitude of class and special awards. Cadillacs have dominated the powerful V16 class that has become a crowd favorite in recent years -- and they've also won several of the show's "Most Elegant" awards.
According to Sandra Kasky, executive director for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, more than 200 automobiles will be showcased August 19th on the lawn by premiere automotive enthusiasts who will come from all over the world to compete in this spectacular heritage automobile event.
