During a special presentation at Peters Honda in Nashua, N.H., Mark
Panoncialman, assistant manager of national advertising for American Honda
Motor Co., Inc., presented the lucky blink-182 fan with a sleek silver Civic,
bearing blink-182 graphics and the autographs of band members Mark Hoppus, Tom
DeLonge and Travis Barker. DeAngelis will be sharing the blink-182 Civic with
her two teenage children Erik, 18, and Mallory, 16.
"When I found out I won the car I just couldn't believe it," gushed
DeAngelis at Saturday's presentation. "I was afraid someone would tell me it
was all just a joke."
DeAngelis is one of only three people in the country to win a custom Civic
designed by blink-182. Two vehicles were awarded through local radio station
contests in New York and Los Angeles during Civic Tour stops by blink-182
earlier this year. The Civic give-away is a highlight of Civic Tour, Honda's
latest venture into the music arena and an integral part of the company's
marketing efforts to create a lasting benefit to core consumers through music.
blink-182 drove the inaugural leg of Civic Tour on a nine-city cross-country
excursion this spring, followed by rock band Everclear who recently wrapped up
the tour's second leg.
Honda developed the Civic Tour as a unique promotion where music fans can
catch one of their favorite acts and have a chance at winning a customized
Honda Civic Coupe designed and autographed by the band. Fans can still enter
to win Everclear's flag-inspired black-and-orange striped Civic, autographed
by the band, on civictour.com through August 31.
