Lexus Introduces Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance to 'A New
World of Luxury'
MONTEREY, Calif., Aug. 14 Lexus will show off its new fall
fashion must-have -- the redesigned ES 300 -- at this year's Pebble Beach
Concours D'Elegance -- one of the most prestigious automotive events in the
world, where car manufacturers, aficionados, enthusiasts and journalists
gather to celebrate the past, present and future of automobiles.
In an ongoing partnership with Hearst Magazines and Saks Fifth Avenue,
Lexus will present the fourth annual "LEXUStyle in the Fast Lane," an
afternoon of fashion and style, at the 52nd annual Pebble Beach Concours
D'Elegance, Fri., Aug. 17. Special guest Academy Award(R)-winning actress
Faye Dunaway will host the fashion event, which celebrates the enduring
association between fashion and automotive design.
"Lexus has a new style of its own to show off at this year's Pebble Beach
Concours -- the all-new Lexus ES 300," said Mike Wells, Lexus vice president
of marketing. "Lexus designers and engineers just keep raising the bar. This
new ES 300 is a whole new world of luxury."
Completely redesigned for 2002, an emotional, contemporary feel and a more
responsive driving experience make the ES 300 an alluring package for a
broader range of buyers. In many ways, the new ES 300 more closely aligns
with the brand's luxurious LS 430, but will be admirably priced in the low
$30,000 range.
Lexus has infused the ES 300 with luxury options and features similar to
the LS 430, such as the Mark Levinson(R) sound system -- an ultra high-end
brand well-known to audiophiles and recording artists. Notably, Lexus is the
first and only automobile manufacturer to offer this exclusive system.
Other features and options available in this alluring new luxury sedan
include the DVD-based Lexus Navigation System (multi-lingual); the same
leather used in the upscale LS 430; an optional power rear sunshade; two-level
heated seats; a one-touch power moonroof; High-Intensity Discharge (HID)
headlights; rain-sensing windshield wipers; and an in-dash six-disc CD auto-
changer.
For the fifth consecutive year, Lexus is one of the automotive sponsors of
the Pebble Beach Concours, supporting such notable events as Motorworks "A
Celebration of Style in Motion," the "LEXUStyle in the Fast Lane" Fashion
Show, the Monterey Historic Races and, of course, the Concours D'Elegance.
Pebble Beach visitors can view a full-line of Lexus vehicles, including
the new ES 300, as well as Lexus concept cars and race cars, throughout the
week at the Motorworks event, the "LEXUStyle in the Fast Lane" Fashion Show
and on Peter Hay Hill.
