The USAC WorldCom Western Midget Car Series returns to the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway Saturday night and Alex Harris and Danny Ebberts will resume their torrid battle for the 2001 championship.

Harris, the winningest driver in USAC TQ Midget Car history (tied with Scott Hansen), is a two-time TQ Midget Car Champion who hopes to add a third USAC title to his resume this season. He leads Ebberts by 11 points with 72 available at Perris. The Perris program concludes with a 30-lap feature.

Ebberts has not won since the Western Midget Car series opener in March and Harris is still seeking his first 2001 victory. Robby Flock (May) and Thomas Meseraull (June) have been the Perris winners so far this season.
