Oshkosh Truck Names Richard M. Donnelly To Its Board Of Directors
OSHKOSH, Wis.--Aug. 13, 2001--Oshkosh Truck Corporation , a leading manufacturer of specialty trucks and truck bodies, announced that Richard M. Donnelly, former president of General Motors Europe (GME), has joined the Oshkosh Truck Board of Directors."We're so pleased to have Dick Donnelly on our Board," said Robert G. Bohn, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Oshkosh Truck. "Dick has an unparalleled background in the transportation and vehicle industries, from his life-long experience with GM in the U.S., Japan and Europe to sitting on the boards of Detroit Diesel, Isuzu and Saab. He currently serves on the Board of Niles Parts Co., a Japanese global automotive supplier of switches, sensors, and actuators. He is an Industrial Partner at the private equity firm Ripplewood Holdings LLC, where he is responsible for their worldwide automotive supplier practice. As Oshkosh broadens its markets, his international experience is a huge asset that makes him an outstanding addition. I look forward to his counsel," Bohn said.
Donnelly began his life-long career with General Motors in 1961 as an engineering student at General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). In 1972, after several engineering and manufacturing assignments at the Chevrolet-Buffalo Manufacturing complex, he moved to Detroit as Product Planning Administrator for Chevrolet. He became plant manager of Chevrolet's Flint Pressed Metal and Plastics Plant in 1978 and the Engine Plant in 1981. In 1983 he moved to Tokyo as Director of Manufacturing GM Japan. In 1984, he was named program manger for the Corsica-Berretta new vehicle project. In 1992 he was appointed General Motors group vice president for Powertrain. In 1994 he was appointed president of General Motors Europe. He retired from GM in 1999.
Donnelly has a degree in engineering, an MBA and has completed advanced management courses at the Harvard Business School. He lives in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., with his wife.
