ArvinMeritor Announces Resignation of V Chairman and
President Bill Hunt
TROY, Mich., Aug. 10 ArvinMeritor, Inc. today
announced that Bill Hunt is resigning as vice chairman and president of the
company. Larry Yost, chairman and CEO, will assume Hunt's operating
responsibilities.
After 25 years of service with Arvin Industries and ArvinMeritor, Bill
plans to form a venture capital company to be based in Indianapolis. His new
company will concentrate on investment opportunities in automotive and
non-automotive areas. "We are indebted to Bill's dedication and commitment to
the success of the ArvinMeritor merger, and now that the transition is
complete we wish him well as he pursues other endeavors," said Yost. "We
thank Bill for his contributions and strong leadership to achieving the
company's integration goals and launching ArvinMeritor as a new company."
Bill has served in his current position since the merger of Arvin
Industries, Inc. and Meritor Automotive, Inc. on July 7, 2000. Prior to the
merger, he served as chairman and CEO of Arvin Industries. He joined Arvin as
counsel in 1976, was appointed vice president of administration in 1980,
secretary in 1982, executive vice president in 1990, president in 1996, and
CEO in 1998. He was named chairman in 1999.
