Torvec Inc. Appoints Michael Martindale as Chief Executive Officer

    PITTSFORD, N.Y., Aug. 9 Torvec, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC) announced today that it has appointed
Michael Martindale as its new Chief Executive Officer.  The appointment,
announced by its Board of Directors, is effective immediately.

    Mr. Martindale formerly held senior level positions at Xerox Corporation
and Digital Equipment Corporation, where his groundbreaking work in Design for
Manafacturing became company standards.  His consulting background includes
Booz, Allen and Hamilton, KPMG Peat Marwick and SIGMA Consulting, where he was
a co-founder.  His consulting experience spans industries including heavy
equipment, automotive, aerospace and electronics.  He also has extensive
international experience, including work in Europe and Asia.  His background
also includes assignments in product development, manufacturing, supply chain
management and product service.
