Vehix.com Names New President

Vehix.com Names New President

    SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 8 Utah-based Vehix.com, the
automotive website designed to help consumers access the information necessary
to purchase their ideal car, has named Derek Mattsson to the post of
President.  In that capacity, the former sales, marketing and Internet
executive will direct the expansion of Vehix's national presence through
alliances with national cable television companies.  Vehix.com founder,
John Garff, will retain his responsibilities as the company's CEO.
    Mattsson's appointment represents a return to Vehix.com.  For the past
year, he worked as senior vice president of sales and marketing for
OneMediaPlace, a leading business-to-business net marketplace for media.
Prior to working at OneMediaPlace, he was regional vice president of AT&T
Media Services, overseeing advertising sales operations in a seven-state area.
As part of that assignment, Mattsson also coordinated the business partnership
between AT&T Broadband and Vehix.com.
    Prior to working for AT&T Broadband, Mattsson held a variety of positions
at several advertising agencies, including Della Femina McNamee WCRS, Tracy
Locke Advertising, and Harris & Love, Inc.  The accounts he represented
included McDonald's, Pepsi, Smith's Food & Drug, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Utah, and Nestle, among others.
    Mattsson attended the University of Utah, and currently serves on the
Board of Directors of the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business
Alumni Association.  He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake
City, the American Advertising Federation, Cable Advertising Bureau, Utah and
Denver Advertising Federations and the Alta Club of Salt Lake City.  He has
supported numerous civic and charitable organizations including the Sundance
Film Festival and Children's Theater, Utah and Denver Ronald McDonald Houses,
the Salt Lake Acting Company, the YWCA, Denver Museum of Natural History, the
Aspen Jazz Festival and the cable industry-sponsored KAITZ Foundation that
promotes diversity in the workplace.
