AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 7 Goodyear has announced the appointment
of former NBC Sports communications director, Jennifer Arnold, as manager of
public relations for one of the world's most visible corporate icons - the
Goodyear blimp.
During Arnold's 16-year career with NBC Sports she had been responsible
for media relations and public relations strategy for many of the highest
profile events and people in the world.
Goodyear Senior Vice President of Global Communications, John Perduyn,
said: "Jennifer brings to us a wealth of experience creating and executing PR
programs for major events such as the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Wimbledon, World
Series and the Olympics.
"This background will help us enormously as we continue to expand our
blimp television activities, bringing the best possible aerial coverage to all
the networks and their millions of viewers, as well as continuing our public
service and safety communications campaigns. Jennifer will oversee strategic
planning and communications for the blimps, further enhancing their
effectiveness."
Currently, Goodyear's three blimps are conducting a 25 major city tour
throughout the USA, promoting tire safety themes through their aerial sign
technology called "Eaglevision."
Reporting to Arnold will be three PR managers based at blimp operations in
Akron, Ohio; Carson, California and Pompano Beach, Florida.
Arnold, who will be based at Goodyear's world headquarters in Akron, Ohio,
graduated from Vassar College.
