Teachers' Insurance Plan to Provide Unique Benefits to Educators Nationally

MELVILLE, NY--Aug. 7, 2001--Teachers' Insurance Plan, the only direct-to-the-consumer auto insurance program designed exclusively for educators, has begun expanding nationally.
Teachers' Insurance Plan, currently available in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and Connecticut, is a direct-to-the-consumer service, which means there are no agents or brokers involved. They are rolling out their unique teacher-specific, no-agent concept to additional states over the next few months.
"Our message to teachers around the country is very simple," said John Brooks, founder and program manager of Teachers' Insurance Plan. "Our studies show that professionals in the education community have superior driving records. And, we can reward them for it with lower rates." Teachers' Insurance Plan can generally save teachers 10-15% off their current auto insurance premium.
"Customers simply call our easy-to-remember toll-free number, (1-800-2TEACHERS), speak with one of our knowledgeable customer service representatives and then sign on," according to Brooks. The company has multiple call centers with extended business hours to provide customers with easy access to representatives for updating or changing policies. And, the claims service is available 24-hours a day.
To provide educators with a full range of quality products, Teachers' Insurance is introducing a quarterly newsletter, a school calendar, a referral program, and the availability of a state approved defensive driving program within the school of the insured.
"Our goal is to ensure our customers are well-informed, safe behind the wheel and aware of all of our discount programs," said Brooks. "Our program is about great service, great rates, and a great staff. We want our customers to know that Teachers' Insurance truly cares."
The Teachers' Insurance Plan was first introduced in 1992 after extensive actuarial studies, reviews of other programs targeted to educators, and visits to some of the insurance companies which offered programs for teachers. Teachers' Insurance Plan is underwritten by Response Insurance Company of America / Response Indemnity Company of Delaware / Response Insurance Company. Teachers' Insurance Plan is headquartered in White Plains, NY.
