eAutoclaims, Parts.com and Keystone Automotive Industries Launch Parts Procurement and Extraction Software to Facilitate Collision Parts Sales in California

eAutoclaims, Parts.com and Keystone Automotive Industries Launch Parts Procurement and Extraction Software to Facilitate Collision Parts Sales in California

PALM HARBOR, Fla., and SANFORD, Fla., Aug. 7 eAutoclaims (OTC Bulletin Board: EACC), a provider of seamless back-end
infrastructure connecting thousands of collision repair shops into a network
for insurance companies and self-insured fleets, Parts.com, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: PART), a marketplace and software solutions provider for
the parts industry, and Keystone Automotive Industries , the
country's largest remanufacturer of collision aftermarket parts, today
announced that they began moving claims through TradeMotion(TM) RAPTOR version
1.0 last week.
Under the terms of the agreement between Parts.com and eAutoclaims,
Parts.com worked closely with eAutoclaims' IT department to develop an
application called RAPTOR under the unified resource locator
http://www.partsclaims.com. RAPTOR is populated with "pick tickets" from open repair
claims in the eAutoclaims network. Currently, eAutoclaims electronically
translates all of its member body shops claims information into a standard
format for auditing purposes. This electronic data is simultaneously copied
into the RAPTOR server for procurement. The eAutoclaims staff notifies the
local body shop creating the claims estimate via automated instant messaging
and/or email with a hot link to the ready-made order, then organizes and
scrubs collision data into a procurement and reporting tool for body shops.
This allows the repair shops to easily place orders without having to re-key
any parts data, and the repair shops can specify which parts they already have
in stock and remove those parts from the ticket. The network shops can place
an order for local delivery with a single click. The revenue sharing
partnership enables the network shops to keep costs down. This is
accomplished by greater discounts off wholesale pricing from Keystone Auto
Parts warehouses and OEM dealership's parts departments that have distribution
agreements with Parts.com and eAutoclaims for the local delivery of new OEM
and aftermarket parts.
TradeMotion RAPTOR is a two part system that complements the TradeMotion
OCTANE order management system currently utilized by thousands of OEM dealers
nationwide and now expanded to certain Keystone locations. The first component
of RAPTOR (Version 1.0) is the Internet application that connects body shops
with discounted local procurement solutions, including OEM dealers and
selected Keystone aftermarket local warehouses. The second component is a
client application that extracts and forwards the electronic claims data and
images from the body shops' computer systems, significantly streamlining
communication between eAutoclaims member body shops and their trading
partners.
In addition, Keystone has provided their electronic catalog with OEM
cross-reference for use in the RAPTOR system to enable rapid look-up for
aftermarket alternatives. The Keystone locations in southern California will
use TradeMotion OCTANE with the roll-out of this initiative.
Eric Seidel, CEO of eAutoclaims, stated, "Body shops like the convenience
of having orders ready to go without having to re-key data or go surfing the
web to find parts online, but for the application to be practical the parts
must be delivered locally. The Raptor product meets both of these needs and
enables our network shops to take advantage of eAutoclaims buying power with
special discounts."
eAutoclaims and Parts.com have strategically rolled-out RAPTOR in
California based on the volume of claims being processed and the utilization
of current suppliers and body shops in targeted market areas. The roll-out
will continue nationwide throughout the next twelve months.
"Our business in the state of California is currently expanding by 3
additional carriers," said Seidel. "Insurance companies are looking to
decrease average paid loss, body shops are looking to increase part margins,
and car dealerships are looking to increase part sales. eAutoclaims and
Parts.com have successfully achieved all three with an affordable and rapidly
deployable solution," concluded Mr. Seidel.
"I feel this is the first ASP-based claims procurement solution that
addresses not just one import OE initiative or the Big Three OE initiative,
but thirty-nine OE manufacturer lines with a web-enabled collision and
mechanical parts catalog attached to distribution," stated Shawn D. Lucas,
President of Parts.com. "This isn't a solution looking for a problem, but a
solution that already has built-in demand. Parts.com will be reaching out to
the other car manufacturers who have yet to embrace either of the other OEM
parts initiatives," concluded Mr. Lucas.
