Pickups Plus Acquires Truck Max, Inc.
MASON, Ohio--Aug. 6, 2001--Pickups Plus, Inc. (OTCBB:PUPS), announced today that they have acquired Truck Max Inc., a truck and SUV accessory store, in a partial cash and stock deal.Truck Max will be converted into a Pickups Plus retail store and the transaction will mark Pickups Plus's 3rd retail store in Ohio and 11th store operational nationwide.
John Fitzgerald, Chairman and CEO of Pickups Plus, commented, "Based on past performances of Truck Max, we estimate this new location will generate an additional $1 million in sales revenues annually." Fitzgerald continued to say, "This is just the beginning of our strategic plan to expand with the development of new company owned stores, acquisitions and additional franchise locations."
Located in Tallmadge, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, the former Truck Max store is a 4,300 sq. ft. freestanding building on 1 acre of land. The building will dedicate 1,500 sq. feet for retail space and 2,800 sq. feet for installation and storage areas. The Pickups Plus store will sell all major brands of popular pick-up and SUV accessories and feature quality name brands such as Leer Truck Caps, Lund, Westin and Perma-tech Sprayed-on bed liners.
Trucks and SUV's have represented 50% of total North American passenger automotive production. In addition, three out of the five top selling vehicles in the U.S. are trucks or SUVs as well.
