FEDERAL-MOGUL DRAG RACING SERIES ROLLS INTO
EDGEWATER SPORTS PARK


        CLEVES, Ohio- In the first rounds of qualifying at Edgewater Sports
Park, Russ Lindert in Federal-Mogul Dragster and Marc White in
Federal-Mogul Funny Car are leading the fields.
        Dragster pilot Lindert, of Manteno, Ill., made a 5.795-second,
246.84 mph run to put him ahead of his competitors.  Meanwhile, Glendale
Heights, Ill., resident White took the top spot in Federal-Mogul Funny car
with a 5.983-second, 243.63-mph pass.
        Top qualifiers in other classes are Steven Ambrose of Woodhaven,
Mich., in Comp; Brad Allen of Winamac, Ind, in Super Stock; and Don Holmes
of Dayton, Ohio, in Stock.
        Qualifying continues Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  Gates to Edgewater
Sports Park open at 9:00 a.m.  Federal-Mogul Dragster and Funny Car
qualifying sessions are scheduled for 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.  For more
