Exide Technologies To Unveil New Exide Select Orbital(R) Logo At This Weekend's Meadow Brook Concours D'Elegance

    PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 3 Exide Technologies , the

for its premium spiral-wound Exide Select Orbital(R) battery line at the 2001
Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance classic-car show, considered to be one of the
top two shows of its kind in the United States.  A co-sponsor of the August 5
event in Rochester, Michigan, the company will distribute Exide Select
Orbital(R) -branded canvas sport bags to all show exhibitors.  Robert A. Lutz,
Exide Technologies' Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, also will serve as
chief judge at the internationally acclaimed event.
    The annual Meadow Brook Hall Concours d'Elegance is billed as one of the
world's most spectacular celebrations of the classic automobile.  Each year,
more than 20,000 people attend the show to experience the beauty of the art,
styling and sophistication of hundreds of the world's finest antique and
classic cars displayed in a lavish outdoor exhibition.  Exide Technologies
