Orest Iwasiuk Appointed President of the Teleflex Automotive Group

    TROY, Mich.--Aug. 3, 2001--Teleflex Incorporated announced today the appointment of Orest Iwasiuk as president of the Teleflex Automotive Group. Mr. Iwasiuk is assuming all responsibilities for the Teleflex Automotive global organization, which includes operations in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. He succeeds Jeffrey P. Black who had been president of Teleflex Automotive until recently when he was appointed president of Teleflex Incorporated.
    In making the announcement, Jeffrey P. Black, president, Teleflex Incorporated, said, "As our Automotive customer base has become more global, it is imperative that we bring our entire organization together to be sure that we are providing a united front in all corners of the world. Orest brings to this position broad experience in advancing Teleflex automotive technology both here in North America and in the European and Asian markets."
    Mr. Iwasiuk was formerly the Teleflex Automotive Group vice president of engineering. He joined Teleflex in 1993 from a division of Masco Industries where he was director of engineering. Prior to that time, he worked for Chrysler Corporation for ten years where he held a variety of engineering positions in the power train area.
    Mr. Iwasiuk holds a Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Oakland University and a Masters in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Detroit Chapter of the Ukrainian Engineering Society. He and his family reside in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
