Triple S Plastics, Inc. Makes Fortune's Small Business Top 100 Fastest-Growing Small Company List

    PORTAGE, Mich.--Aug. 3, 2001--Triple S Plastics, Inc. announced today that it has been recognized as one of America's 100 fastest-growing small companies in the July/August 2001 issue of Fortune Small Business.
    Companies considered for ranking are publicly traded, have been in business for more than three years, and have revenue of $200 million or less for the year 2000. Further criteria included earnings per-share growth, revenue growth, and total return over the three years ended 2000.
    For it's year ended March 31, 2001, Triple S reported net sales of $155,168,000, an increase of 63.2% over the $95,102,000 in the previous year and net income of $4,860,000 for the 2001 year as compared with $2,771,000 in the prior year.

    On May 25th, 2001 Triple S announced that it had agreed to reinstate on amended terms its previously terminated merger agreement with Eimo Oyj, a Finnish manufacturer of plastic components for the mobile communications industry. Under the new merger agreement, Triple S will merge with a subsidiary of Eimo, and Triple S shareholders will receive 4.5 Eimo Series A shares (in the form of American Depositary Receipts) at the time of the merger for each of their shares of Triple S stock. Consummation of the merger is subject to various conditions, including approval of the new merger agreement by Eimo's and Triple S's shareholders.
