SAE SoCal: What's happening in August?

Even though there aren't any regular SAE Section meetings or tours until
September, there are still SAE and other automotive events of interest this

Go behind the scenes at the Bonneville Salt Flats! August 11th - 13th

Did you get the opportunity to hear Louise "Land Speed" Noeth speak to the
section earlier this year?  If you thought her presentation was intriguing,
then you just might be interested in a new program being offered by SAE.
Louise will be leading a tour of 25 people that will go to the Bonneville
Salt Flats in August for a behind the scenes look at the world land
speed-record races.  You can register for the trip or get more information

Turbonetics presents ....... "2001 Performance Turbocharging Conference"
Turbonetics is proud to announce that we are hosting the third  "Performance
Turbocharging Conference", PTC III,  to be held at our new expanded
facilities in Simi Valley, CA, on: Saturday, August 18, 2001 from 8:30 AM to
5:00 PM.

Once again, join us for a full day of turbo-related activities including:

	- A full day of technical seminars presented by turbo professionals!
	- Dozens of turbo-powered vehicles and "things" on display!
	- Static displays of advanced and future products from around the
	- Door prizes including:
			- Turbonetics' ball-bearing turbo
			- Turbonetics' RaceGate 
			- Spearco intercooler!

In addition, there will be guided facility tours and refreshments throughout
the day, equipment demonstrations, lunchtime entertainment and interviews
with prominent racers and engine builders.  Tom Corrigan and his chuck wagon
will also be back with his popular: BBQ to Kill For !!!  An all-you-can eat
spread of tri-tip, chicken, and all the fixen's !
