Scene Genesis Announces Open Exchange

Leader in Providing Internet-Based Claims/Inspections Information Exchange
Solution Challenges Other Industry Information Vendors to Publish
                          Their SOAP Exchange Format

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 2 Scene Genesis, Inc., a leading
provider of Internet-based claim/inspection Information systems for the P&C
insurance industry, today became the first online provider to offer open
exchange of claim assignments and files that include photos, repair estimates
and EMS data.
"SceneAccess.net is built on Microsoft .NET Servers and XML Architecture,
so we can now publish SOAP and XML calls that will allow for the open exchange
of claims data between all information providers," said Robert Blake, chief
technology officer and Scene Genesis co-founder.
Previously, each insurance carrier required its service partners to use
disparate closed, proprietary systems for receiving assignment and claim
reporting over a network or on the Web. For independent claim adjusters,
inspectors and others who work with multiple insurance carriers, the time and
expense involved in using several proprietary systems created a serious
financial burden.
Scene Genesis employs Web Services in its SceneAccess.net claims
management system for the open exchange of folders and assignments created on
any service. Information providers and insurance carriers can send
assignments to SceneTask Assignments System, one of the services found at
SceneAccess.net, and retrieve work completed through the same system, no
matter which claim network system was involved in the task.
"Before today, insurance professionals were forced to use a specific
network to process a carrier's assignment," said Mark Snow, executive
vice-president of ADA of the Heartland, a SceneAccess.net customer. "Open
exchange frees us to choose a system network for our use while still meeting
our carriers' requirement to deliver claim information using a specific
network."
"We look forward to having the other vendors follow our lead and publish a
standard that all can use to exchange claims data and assignments for a truly
open system," said Blake. "With this move, we can now provide the industry
with the truly open exchange of information demanded by insurance carriers and
their service partners. Now, we challenge other information system providers
in the industry to publish their SOAP exchange format as well, so that all P&C
industry professionals can benefit from faster, more compatible services."
