Nissan Reports July Sales
GARDENA, Calif., Aug. 1 The Nissan Division of Nissan
North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced July sales of 51,308 units. The
Nissan Altima led the division with sales of 10,712 units. Nissan's Sentra
turned in sales of 8,799 units while Nissan Maxima posted sales of
8,409 units, bringing total Nissan sedan sales to 27,921 units.
Frontier had sales of 7,244 units while Xterra reported sales of 7,990, up
5.4 percent versus prior year. Pathfinder and Quest recorded sales of
5,129 and 3,024 units, respectively, bringing combined truck sales to
23,387 units for the month.
Sales of Nissan's North American-produced vehicles accounted for
65.3 percent of July sales. Calendar year-to-date sales totaled 367,352
units, versus 398,353 units in 2000. Overall Nissan Division reported a
16.7 percent decrease versus the corresponding month last year. Combined
sales for Nissan and Infiniti Divisions for June totaled 56,725 units, a
17.8 percent decline from July 2000.
