Acura Sets Sales Record for Ninth Consecutive Month
TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 1 Acura marks a ninth consecutive
month of record-setting sales, reporting an all-time July record of 13,537.
That number breaks the previous record of 13,428 set in July 1991 and is a
16.4 percent increase over last year, the company announced today.
Acura's year-to-date sales rose to 98,447 in July, up 24.1 percent over
the same period last year. Sales were boosted by the introduction of the
all-new RSX sports coupe, the replacement for the Acura Integra, which sold
2,308 units in its first month. In addition, strong demand continued for the
best-selling 3.2 TL luxury performance sedan, resulting in a new July sales
record of 5,183 units. Year-to-date TL sales rose to 41,258 up 4.8 percent
over last year.
"The RSX is off to a fast start," said Dick Colliver, executive vice
president of sales. "When you combine that with strong sales of our core
models and the new MDX luxury SUV, we're on track to have a record-breaking
year."
