Jaguar Announces July Sales: Down
MAHWAH, N.J., Aug. 1 Jaguar North America (JNA) today
reported 2,845 sales for the month of July 2001, a decrease from last year's
record July sales. Year-to-date sales now stand at 23,113.
"July was a busy month for Jaguar retailers as they pushed hard to sell
out of 2001 model year cars and started to introduce the new 2002 models,"
said Fran O'Hagan, JNA vice president, retail operations. "As the end of the
year starts to come into sight, our retailers are looking forward to a
successful close to the model year and this month's strong debut of the all-
new X-Type sport sedan."
Jaguar's all-new X-Type sport sedan debuts in August, on the heels of
significant pre-launch publicity. With the majority of growth in the luxury
market currently in the sub-$40,000 segment, the X-Type, starting at $29,950,
with standard all-wheel drive, leather and wood trim, is expected to bring new
customers into Jaguar retailers.
