Sequa Staff Lawyer Elected to Additional Post At Chromalloy Subsidiary
NEW YORK--Aug. 2, 2001--The board of directors of Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corporation, the largest subsidiary of Sequa Corporation , has elected a senior Sequa staff attorney, Peter T. Gelfman, vice president and corporate secretary of Chromalloy.In announcing Gelfman's election to the Chromalloy post, Norman E. Alexander, chairman and chief executive officer of Sequa, said, "We are fortunate to have a cadre of seasoned and talented professionals to support the requirements of our business units. Since joining Sequa in 1999 from Westvaco Corporation, Gelfman, 37, has served as senior associate general counsel, a position in which he will continue. He began his career in 1989 as a litigation associate with the New York firm, Cravath, Swaine & Moore and later spent four years as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York. A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College (BA, 1986), he received a JD in 1989 from Yale Law School. He is admitted to the New York State Bar.
