Baxter Premieres `Support Planning for Prophet' With Enterasys

AUSTIN, Texas--Aug. 2, 2001--Baxter Planning Systems, the leading provider of Web-based service parts management software, introduced today 'Support Planning for Prophet' with network infrastructure provider Enterasys as the first implementation.
'Support Planning for Prophet' is a Web-based tool that will allow service organizations to instantaneously access the availability of support coverage for 144 countries.
'Support Planning' revolutionizes the process of determining the eligibility of a specific customer location for coverage. Traditionally, logistics managers manually determine what level of support can be offered to specific customer sites, a process that can take up to sixty days. With 'Support Planning,' coverage availability is determined real-time via the Internet. The advantage is a reduction in labor costs, while generating revenue previously lost during those sixty days.
"By accessing 'Support Planning' through a wireless device, sales representatives will be able to define response times immediately while at the customer site," said Baxter Planning Systems President and CEO Greg Baxter.
This interactive tool was originally designed in partnership with Enterasys, a market leader in networking infrastructure hardware and software, as an addition to Baxter's suite of software, 'Prophet by Baxter.'
"We expect to see a reduction in response time and increased accuracy in the quoting process," said Enterasys Senior Planner Barbara Smith.
Initially, Enterasys has deployed 'Support Planning' to its internal support organization and will extend use to external channel vendors in the near future.
