Infomedia Expands Daihatsu Microcat Into New Territories

    NARRABEEN, Australia--July 31, 2001-- International automotive industry IT developer, Infomedia Ltd, today announced that it has commenced market expansion activities with Daihatsu Motor Company (DMC) to supply its Microcat(R) electronic parts catalog (EPC) to Da ihatsu dealers in South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
    According to Infomedia Ltd's Electronic Catalogs Division General Manager, Gary Martin, this initiative represents a new milestone in the global distribution of the company's flagship system. "Microcat will soon be used in over 100 countries. Many dealers from countries where Microcat has not previously been used have already placed advanced subscription orders."
    "In addition to the Latin American initiative, Infomedia and DMC will also begin promoting Microcat Daihatsu to dealers in approximately 40 more countries during the balance of the year," stated Martin. "Microcat will help make the sale of Daihatsu replacement parts quicker, easier and more efficient in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Russia and Saudi Arabia."
    Infomedia Ltd has enjoyed a successful association with DMC for the past five years. Since 1996 Daihatsu dealers in Australia have experienced increased productivity and improved customer service as a result of using the Microcat system. In 1999, Daihatsu dealers in Europe were also given the opportunity to access the benefits of Microcat when Infomedia was awarded an exclusive data license for Daihatsu Europe.
    Currently more than 30,000 subscribers around the world receive regular updates of Microcat and the subscription base continues to grow.
    An EPC is a business software application that assists dealership parts and service personnel determine the correct replacement parts for a vehicle, from the hundreds of thousands of parts in stock. The Microcat parts selling system, operates both from traditional CD and DVD-ROMs and via the Internet. Its speed of operation, smooth integration with order entry systems, broad choice of features and easy to use graphical interface, make it very popular with users and OEMs.
