SDRC today announced it has renewed and expanded the company's marketing alliance with Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR motor sports organization located in Harrisburg, North Carolina, with a five-year contract effective immediately. Hendrick's engineering team uses I-DEAS(R) software for design, analysis, and manufacturing requirements on the team's high-performance racecars. Hendrick sponsors three drivers in the NASCAR Winston Cup including, Terry Labonte, Jerry Nadeau, and Jeff Gordon.
"We have very clear objectives in our business," said Jim Wall, engineering group manager, Hendrick Motorsports. "We want to win races. A critical few seconds make a big difference on the track, and we're working daily to gain the slight edge needed to win races. I-DEAS provides the technology that enables us to design, test, and manufacture cars and engines -- in fact, we build over 700 engines each year. We've already gained significant improvements in our processes with I-DEAS, and we're pleased to be renewing our relationship with SDRC to further expand our use of this technology and our overall business results."
"Hendrick Motorsports has been a great partner, and we're looking forward to our expanded relationship with this virtual racing giant," said Max Utter, vice president of marketing, SDRC. "While driving experience and finesse are critical in the racing industry, the engine and overall car performance produce the final `report card' on race day. We're pleased that our technology is a cornerstone of Hendrick's success in the race industry, and we're looking forward to helping them `Get There Faster(R)'."
