Michael Andretti, No. 39 Motorola/Honda-Reynard

"This is the best it's been this weekend. We made improvements in qualifying; in fact, we picked up two and a half tenths of a second, which is a pretty big jump so I think we are going in the right direction. I'm sure we'll do some more fine-tuning in the morning and a half hour is a long time to make some final improvements to the race car. The car didn't feel too bad today and it's a long race and I do think we have a pretty good race car. Track position is always important because the competition i s so close and your strategy and how the yellows fall become really important. "

Position: 17th
Time: 23.513 seconds/ 157.547 mph
2000 Start/Finish: 15th / 2nd

Kim Green, General Manager

"We worked on qualifying this morning and improved the car so we're starting mid-pack, which should be ok. We would like to have been up front for qualifying but we have gained a lot this weekend on the race set up. We know Michael is always very good on the oval so we're looking forward to him moving the Motorola car up front in tomorrow's race."
