Tony Kanaan and his #55 Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing Honda-Reynard posted the
15th-fastest time of the day in practice for Sunday's Target Grand Prix.
Kanaan's lap of 24.079 seconds (an average of 153.844 mph) around the 1-mile
Chicago Motor Speedway oval was the sixth-fastest during this morning's
1-hour, 45-minute session.  In this afternoon's 90-minute session, Kanaan
came in at 24.202 seconds (153.062 mph) on his best lap.

Mo Nunn Racing teammate Alex Zanardi and the #66 Pioneer-WorldCom/Mo Nunn
Racing Honda-Reynard were fifth in the afternoon session at 23.960 seconds
(154.608 mph), a time that was sixth best on the timesheets combining
morning and afternoon sessions.  Zanardi was ninth this morning at 24.135
seconds (153.487 mph).  Bruno Junqueira as fastest on the day at 23.714
seconds (156.212 mph), followed by Kenny Brack at 23.731 seconds (156.100
mph) and Tora Takagi at 23.766 seconds (155.870 mph).

Practice resumes at 9:30 a.m. EDT Saturday with single-car qualifying set
for 1:30 p.m.  ESPN2's qualifying show will be shown on a tape-delayed basis
at 6 p.m. EDT Saturday.  Race time on Sunday is 3 p.m. EDT with a live
broadcast set for ABC-TV.

"It was a very frustrating afternoon session because the traffic was worse
than rush hour on Michigan Avenue.  It was impossible to get a clear lap.
And with all the yellows, I wasn't able to run with the new set of tires we
planned to run in the afternoon.  I got my fast lap on the sixth lap of the
session and that was it.  You can't put 26 cars on a 1-mile oval and not
expect to be held up from time to time.  But today seemed ridiculous.  But
it's the same for everybody.  We have one more practice before qualifying,
and they will split us into two groups, so hopefully that will make a
difference.  Otherwise, my car is fine.  It's set up the same as Alex's and
we ran very close this morning.  We'll be alright."
