Foamex International Acquires Assets of General Foam Corporation

    LINWOOD, Pa.--July 25, 2001--Foamex International Inc. , the leading manufacturer of flexible polyurethane and advanced polymer foam products, announced today that it had completed the transaction to acquire certain assets of General Foam Corporation (GFC), a manufacturer of polyurethane foam products for the automotive, industrial and home furnishings markets.
    As a result of the transaction, Foamex acquired GFC's East Rutherford, New Jersey operations, and entered into a supply agreement for products currently manufactured at General Foam's West Hazleton and Berwick, Pennsylvania facilities.

"GFC customers will now have access to a broad array of products and services from our network of facilities across North America, while Foamex customers will benefit from the unique technologies practiced by GFC."
