HARRISBURG, N.C. - Three-time Winston Cup champion and DuPont Motorsports driver Jeff Gordon will appear on ABC's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in a special "Sports Superstars" edition scheduled to air the week of September 10.

Gordon will join other athletes including Leila Ali, Charles Barkley, Johnny Bench, John Elway, Tony Hawk and Serena Williams in the telecast that will run as the premiere of the hit quiz show on Mondays as the lead-in to the network's NFL "Monday Night Football."

"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" is the top-rated prime-time television show according to Neilsen Media Research and won back-to-back Emmy awards in 2000 and 2001 for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. Gordon and the show's host, Emmy award winner Regis Philbin, teamed up earlier this year when Gordon co-hosted an episode of the popular daytime show, "Live with Regis."
