CTS Corporation Introduces New Line of 5mm x 7mm Gigabit Ethernet Clock Oscillators for Datacom Network Applications
ELKHART, Ind.--July 24, 2001--CTS Corporation today announced the addition of 125.000 MHz Gigabit Ethernet clock oscillators to its CB3 family of economical 5mm x 7mm hermetically sealed, ceramic oscillators.Wide acceptance of the Ethernet protocol and its adaptability, coupled with today's requirement for gigabit speeds, is driving deployment of Gigabit Ethernet. CTS CB3 clocks are precision oscillators that both synchronize the flow of data in network control devices, and deliver the economical performance that OEM's in the datacom market need for products serving Gigabit Ethernet applications. The worldwide served market is estimated to reach $50 million annually beginning in 2002.
The standard 4-pad, 5mm x 7mm CTS surface mount oscillator packages are fully compatible with SMT pick-and-place assembly equipment, and are supplied in standard tape-and-reel packaging. Offered in stability grades of 25, 50 and 100 ppm, CTS Gigabit Ethernet clocks are available in 3.3 and 5.0 Vdc systems, drawing 40 and 50 mA, respectively. As with other standard CB3 clocks, the output is CMOS compatible and includes the industry standard tristate output, enable/disable feature. Temperature range options are 0 to 70 degrees C for commercial applications and minus 40 to plus 85 degrees C for industrial operating conditions.
CTS Gigabit Ethernet clocks are economically priced at less than $4 each in volume production quantities and available now, with delivery currently running from 6-8 weeks.
