Honda Integra domestic orders above target
Reutersreported that Honda Motor Co Ltd, Japan's third-largest carmaker, said on Monday that domestic orders for its remodelled Integra two-door coupe had soared to twice its monthly sales target in the first three weeks.
Honda said it had received 3,000 domestic orders for the remodelled Integra in the first three weeks after its launch on July 2. That compared with a monthly sales target of 1,500 vehicles.
Orders for the high-end Integra Type R accounted for 81 percent of the total. The Type R sells for 2.59 million yen ($21,020) in Japan.
Honda's domestic sales of passenger cars have been rising year-on-year since December 1999 on the back of strong demand for new models such as Stepwagon, Odyssey, Stream, Civic, Life and Fit.
