Collins & Aikman Names Kipp Plant Manager For Sterling Heights, Michigan, Facility

    TROY, Mich., July 19 Collins & Aikman Corporation
today announced the appointment of Larry C. Kipp, Jr. to Plant
Manager for its Sterling Heights, Mich., manufacturing facility, which was
acquired in the recently completed Becker transaction.
    As plant manager, Kipp will be responsible for developing and executing
the plant's operating strategy, including ensuring consistency of
manufacturing operations, delivery performance, quality assurance and
implementation of process improvements.  The 335,000-sq. ft. Sterling Heights
facility produces injection molded plastic-based interior trim components for
a variety of major OEM vehicle platforms.
    Prior to joining Collins & Aikman, Kipp was Plant Manager for Mexican
Industries' Dearborn, Mich., facility.  He holds a bachelor's of science
degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and has 12
years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
