NASCAR WCUP: Schrader performs well but Loudon is not his favorite track

July 19, 2001Schrader's Thoughts On New Hampshire...
"New Hampshire isn't exactly my favorite type of track, but we seem to perform there. Last year we had two really good runs there -- although one was spoiled by rain -- and we hope to build on those this year. Qualifying at Loudon has always been a strong point for us, and I hope the "M&M's"® Racing Team continues the tradition. We are going back without restrictor plates, which I think will be fine. That was a change made last year responding to a particular situation, but I don't think it made for a very good race."
Schrader's Chicagoland Highlights...
The "M&M's"® Pontiac running at New Hampshire International Speedway made several successful starts in 2000, and one start this season. This particular car finished ninth at Richmond International Raceway in May, one of the team's four top-10 finishes since the addition of crew chief Newt Moore.
"M&M's"® Racing Team driver Ken Schrader is quite the qualifying guru at New Hampshire International Speedway. Schrader has made 12 starts at the flat, one-mile oval since the Winston Cup cars started racing there in 1993. In 11 out of 12 starts Schrader has stared his car within the top 10 including winning both pole positions at the track in 1997.
Ken Schrader is a notoriously busy driver when it comes to racing outside the Winston Cup Series, and New Hampshire International Speedway is no exception. Schrader rarely pulls double duty on Winston Cup weekends, but at NHIS this weekend he will run the "M&M's"® Pontiac as well as the No. 52 entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
