HAMPTON, N.H., July 18 The General Chemical Group Inc. announced that following the close of the market today its common stock will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Effective with the open of the market on Thursday, July 19, the company's stock will trade over the counter (OTC). The company's new ticker symbol is GCHG. The previously announced reverse split of the company's common stock was effective at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on Friday, July 13. The reverse split was approved by General Chemical's shareholders on May 16, 2001.
