Visteon Announces Joint Venture to Supply Integrated Cockpit & Front End Modules to Nissan

DEARBORN, Mich., July 17 Visteon Corporation today announced that it has entered into an agreement to form a joint venture with Lextron Corporation, to supply integrated cockpit modules and front-end modules to Nissan, for future truck and minivan platforms. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) Based in Jackson, Mississippi, Lextron Corporation is a nationally certified minority supplier that manufactures products for the automotive, telecommunications and defense industries. The new joint venture, to be named Lextron/Visteon Automotive Systems, will be housed in a 97,500-square-foot facility to be built within 100 yards of the new Nissan facility in Canton, Mississippi. "By synergizing the best of both Lextron and Visteon, we believe that the prospects are great for providing the highest standard of quality to Nissan, while utilizing the most cost effective delivery system," said Charles Doty, Lextron President and Chief Executive Officer. "I am proud to be part of this partnership with Visteon. This is a win-win opportunity." Visteon will be responsible for all the design, development, engineering and technical assistance in the venture, while Lextron brings its extensive manufacturing and management capability to the partnership.
