July 17, 2001LEBANON, Tenn. - Event happenings leading up to and during the Harrah's Indy 200 on July 19-21 at Nashville Superspeedway:
SCHEDULE:
The Harrah's Indy 200 starts at 7 p.m. (CDT) July 21. MBNA Pole Qualifying starts at 4:45 p.m. July 20.
Practice sessions start at 5 p.m. (two groups) and 7:30 p.m. (two groups) July 19 and 2:30 p.m. (two groups) and 8 p.m. (all cars) July 20.
ON THE AIR:
The Harrah's Indy 200 will be televised live on ESPN at 8 p.m. (EDT) July 21. "Indy Racing 2Day" will be televised live at 5:30 p.m. July 21 on ESPN2.
MBNA Pole Qualifying will be televised live on ESPN2 at 5:30 p.m. (EDT) July 20.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network will broadcast a 30-minute pre-race show at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) July 21, followed by the live race broadcast at 8 p.m.
The area IMS Radio Network affiliate is WSM-FM 95.5, Nashville, Tenn. The IMS Radio Network race broadcast also will be available live on the Internet at www.indyracing.com as part of a partnership between Indy Racing Online and Yahoo!/broadcast.com, the world's leading Web broadcast site.
TICKETS:
There are less than 1,000 tickets still available for the Harrah's Indy 200. Tickets can be purchased by calling (866) 722-3849 or by logging onto www.nashvillesuperspeedway.com
SAY IT IS SO, JOE:
Shoeless Joe's Sports Café, located in the Garden Plaza Hotel in Murfreesboro, Tenn., will display the Hollywood Indy Racing car from July 18-21. An Indy Racing League infomercial also will be shown on several televisions throughout Shoeless Joe's.
SHE'S GOING TO SIGN:
Sarah Fisher will sign autographs from 5-7 p.m. (CDT) July 18 at Kroger, 2325 Memorial Blvd., in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Her Kroger Indy Racing car also will be on display at the store from 3-7 p.m.
NICE GESTURE:
Fans who had purchased tickets to the USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet race June 20 that was canceled can present their ticket at the Fan Walk Shuttle Pick Up for a complimentary "Cold Pit" pass. The "Cold Pit" pass will give fans access to the garage area at all times and to pit road when no track activity is scheduled.
IN THE MIDWAY:
The Purex Indy Racing car will be displayed in the midway of Nashville Superspeedway from July 19-21.
IT'S A PARTY:
Indy Racing drivers will sign autographs at the Wildhorse Saloon from 6-8 p.m. July 18. The Wildhorse Saloon is located on Second Avenue in Nashville, Tenn. The Purex Indy Racing car also will be on display.
SIGN HERE, PLEASE:
An autograph session with Indy Racing drivers will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. (CDT) July 20 outside the Nashville Superspeedway grandstands. The session is free of charge.
