General Creation Booms Onto NASCAR Scene; General Creation Sponsors Team Bristol Motorsports, Busch Series Driver Kelly Denton, #54

BRISTOL, Va.--July 16, 2001--General Creation, one of the top companies in the educational toy category, has announced that they will be the primary sponsor of Team Bristol Motorsports, which will compete in NASCAR Busch series racing.
The driver of car No. 54, a Chevy Monte Carlo, will be Kelly Denton.
Denton began competing in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series at age 18 in 1991. Over the next several years, he racked up well over 100 races, 19 wins, 27 pole positions, and seven top ten finishes. Most recently, he finished 16th out of 43 at the Dover Downs Raceway on June 2, 2001.
Two major players -- KSR Motorsports and Ed Whittaker Racing, are sponsoring team Bristol Motorsports. KSR Motorsports is comprised of Kelly Denton, Rick Goodwin, CEO of General Creation and Steve Johnson, former Dallas Cowboys tight end, who is currently involved in many business ventures, including C&J Associates, a commercial real estate development company, Dixie Pottery, a retail operation, and is a partner in The Virginian Golf Club, a Tom Fazio designed golf/residential community.
The car, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, features General Creation's primary franchise, Baby Bear, boldly on the hood. The black and yellow No. 54 car also highlights various General Creation product and brands, including 30-Second Cotton Candy Maker(TM) and Baby Go Boom(TM).
General Creation invested in NASCAR Busch series racing and the No. 54 Team Bristol Motorsports with driver Kelly Denton to expand their brand visibility in the American marketplace, as well as increase sales and networking opportunities.
"So far, NASCAR has been a tremendous showcase for General Creation toys, our company and our brand," said Rick Goodwin, president of General Creation International. "We believe that it will generate even more recognition of the General Creation and GC Toys names among NASCAR fans, as well as corporate sponsors, throughout the world."
The No. 54 team is truly coming together during their first season, testing out crew chiefs, the pit crew, the new Monte Carlo, and tire designs.
"This team is really working hard to come together this year," said Denton. "It should put us in a very good position going into the 2002 season. All of the kinks of a first year team should be worked out, and we will be ready to win some races."
General Creation is looking forward to using its motor sports program to not only give our customers additional entertainment, but to gain new marketshare and use their sponsorship to enhance their customer relations and increase sales.
"Many people are puzzled by the fact that a toy company would sponsor a NASCAR," said Goodwin. "General Creation entered into this as a strategic investment to take advantage of the opportunities that NASCAR racing offers to major corporate marketers. It also represents some unique business opportunities for us."
Team owners Rick Goodwin and Steve Johnson have an association with Team Bristol Motorsports that goes much deeper than the race team owner/sponsor relationship.
"I joined this team because NASCAR gives me a competitive outlet that is at a similar level of intensity and challenge as the NFL was for me," said Johnson of his involvement with Team Bristol Motorsports racing. "More importantly, Bristol is synonymous with the best in competitive racing - the best fans and the top drivers. Bristol Motor Speedway is the toughest ticket to get in NASCAR," he continued. "Team Bristol Motorsports is comprised completely of Bristolians - owners, driver and crew. This sets us apart from other teams and gives the locals a hometown team to pull for."
