Visteon Corporation Extends and Expands Managed Services Agreement with Vastera
DULLES, Va.--July 16, 2001--Vastera, Inc. , the leading provider of solutions for Global Trade Management, today announced that Visteon Corporation , a leading supplier of integrated automotive components and systems, has extended its managed services agreement with Vastera through 2004.Visteon has also expanded the scope of its original agreement with Vastera to include management of the global trade functions associated with its aftermarket business and broker relationships. Additionally, Vastera will have responsibility for accurately determining country of origin for parts as required by the American Automobile Labeling Act (AALA).
The expanded responsibilities and extended service agreement have resulted from Vastera's solid performance during the course of its original work with Visteon.
By efficiently managing country specific trade regulations, generating complex international shipping documents, classifying new products and managing the preferential duty programs for the automotive systems giant, Vastera has helped Visteon improve its international cycle times and reduce its global logistics and duty costs.
"Since taking over Visteon's global trade operations six months ago, we've helped drive global trade efficiencies across Visteon's North American operations," said Mark Ferrer, President and COO of Vastera. "I'm very proud of the work we've done at Visteon, and I look forward to continuing our long term relationship."
