July 15, 2001SPARTA KY. (July16, 2001)â“ Surviving the attrition this weekend was the key to the #55 Powers Motorsports best finish of the 2001 season. Starting on their time from the 31st spot, driver Tom Powers was able to stay out of harms way and bring the 5 Star Lighting and Recreation Dodge home to a 20th place finish. Â
A new paint color was unveiled this weekend with quite a different look from what we had in the past. âœWe had a quite a bit of body work to do this past week to make sure we got through techâ said owner/driver Tom Powers.â I am glad we kept it in one piece after all the cautions we had tonightâ The new color is a solid turquoise as compared to the blue/black paint scheme that has been run in the past. Â
The # 55 Powers Motorsports DODGE continues to be in the top 30 of owner points. ✠Sponsorship is the key to us finishing out the season.â said Richard Weber, Director of Team Marketing and Promotions, âœSo far this season the team has made 11 of the 12 races it was entered in, all without the help of corporate sponsorship.â
